I have over a decade of experience in the IT field. Currently I’m a Technology Evangelist for Cisco focusing on ACI and Nexus 9000 series switches.  Opinions and writing here are my own and not that of my company.

AdaptingIT originally started as technical podcasts for technical people (also available on iTunes and Stitcher Radio).

This podcast came about when Mike Laverick, Jane Rimmer, and Lauren Malhoit, were discussing how to encourage more women to get involved in the technical community. This podcast is not about women in tech, but rather women talking about tech.

“Lauren is one of the rising stars of the vCommunity, and I can think of no better a person to light the torch for promoting the involvement of all women in aspects of our endless adapting IT landscape  – whether that be in tech roles or elsewhere. The truth is all our roles are technical whether they be the technical aspects of virtualisation, social media, marketing, management and public relations. This new era is all about people sharing and mentoring each other – sharing their technical knowledge with others – you could call it Techknowledgy if you like.”  – Mike Laverick

“IT is predominately male orientated, for one reason or another, yet there are areas of high tech that are more female focused – such as marketing and PR.   Lauren is an inspiration to woman wanting to achieve career success in a technical field and leading the charge on this podcast is a testament to her passion.  This podcast is a great series of women TALKING tech, whether tech-nology or tech-nical – enjoy!”  – Jane Rimmer
