This second video of the ACI 101 series is an overview of the Cisco ACI Application Policy Infrastructure Controller (APIC). The APIC is the controller we use to setup, configure, and manage literally everything in ACI from the underlay to the overlay, from virtual to physical, and all of your layer 2-7 needs. While the APIC can manage your entire network, it doesn’t stop there. It will help you setup and keep track of your policy constructs, and give you visibility into your entire network to ease troubleshooting. It’s where you’ll find things like health scores and atomic counters. The APIC can also contain firmware images for your switches and the APIC itself. From the APIC we can setup “maintenance groups” for our switches and deploy upgrades in seamless ways.
